Peak Experience (PEX) was established in 2008 by Rens ter Weijde (photo). As a social- and sportpsychologist with a severe background in martial arts Rens was surprised by the lack of applied psychological work in the 'high performance' area. PEX is based on the notion that physical and mental fitness are intertwined and can be developed together - if the right techniques and coaching methods are applied.
PEX has grown since 2008 from a one-man mission to a network where a diversity of experts work together on the best possible projects. PEX has been involved in many high performance initiatives in business and sports - examples include Cirque du Soleil, Eredivisie soccer (Dutch league), the Marine Corps, and many companies that wanted to learn more about the 'high performance mindset' techniques (KPMG, Vodafone, McKinsey, Nuon, Multi-M/IT etc.). Furthermore, articles from our side have been published in the Men's Health and we've been involved in many 'pro bono' initiatives (Alpe D'huzes twice, Atma Challenge)
A new branch of PEX has been created in September 2010, called PEX Adventures. This is an initiative to bring adventurers (mountaineers mainly) together in order to reach new heights and learn from each other.
